Remembering Dr Scott Tripp
I was on my way to my truck when I ran into Jessie. We exchanged updates about the farm, and I asked if she'd heard the cows last Wednesday afternoon. She hadn't—too busy to make it up that way. But the memory of that moment lingered with me. The cows weren't just their usual selves; they were harmonizing, their voices weaving together in a melody that seemed to transcend the ordinary. It was a haunting, woodwind-like chorus, something I'd never heard before.

Happy New Year from Rock Wall Garden!
The last day of 2024 prompted reflection on a year of resilience, creativity, and community at Rock Wall Garden. From saying goodbye to founder Dr. Scott Tripp and rebuilding the greenhouse after a devastating storm, to hosting family-friendly workshops, battling grasshoppers, and sharing the harvest through pizza nights and holiday markets, every month brought new challenges and joys. Highlights included a greenhouse barn raising, innovative craft events, and fall festivities like cider pressing and blacksmithing. The year closed with Rock Wall Garden making its debut at the Jingle and Joy Holiday Market, a fitting end to a vibrant and eventful year.

Scarcity and Cider
Scarcity mentality can dominate your life. We live in a world where many resources are limited. Students in our special education programs live in a world where practically everything they need is rationed: Teachers’ time, transportation, summer camps, training opportunities, job internships, fun activities, etc. are always traced to available funding and always at the mercy of the priorities of the educational system.
We wanted the students in Jimmie’s Peer Project class to feel the rhythm of an order where there is enough work for everyone as well as enough food. Read on to discover how apple cider was the key to making this happen!
